The literacy rates among kids in Indonesia is low. The ability to read is quite prevalent, but the ability to understand content and the social support to improve literacy skills remains to be a limitation.

What we do

#AksiBaca was initiated by GerakCepat and Berani in 2015. Together, we visit schools and communities to campaign the importance of reading literacy. The campaign highlight is delivered through a social movement where kids all over Indonesia read together simultaneously, which takes place during National Kids Day.

We also provide promotional kits, reading materials, and trainer toolkits that can be obtained for free online.

To amplify the impact of the initiative and spread the program to areas with very low literacy level, we establish collaborate with governmental institutions and private sectors.
